Our dates for next year’s festival are confirmed as Friday May 28th to Sunday June 13th. We actively promote and celebrate contemporary art in the Bath area and beyond, showcasing early career artists and curators, and those who find it difficult to break into (or prefer to operate outside of) the gallery based art scene. FAB frequently uses “alternative”, temporary exhibition spaces - anything from street corners, shops and shopping centres to front rooms and cafés. We are a not for profit organisation and receive little funding, relying on enthusiastic volunteers to enable us to put on each year’s programme of shows and events.</p>\x0a<p><b>So for 2010 we are looking for….</b></p>\x0a<p>There are several vacancies on the FAB committee, and opportunities for other volunteers to help on specific areas of activity. If you are an arts student or recent graduate, starting out on a creative career or looking to move into the arts and cultural sector, this could be a great opportunity to learn or hone essential skills, make valuable contacts and make your ideas happen with the support of an experienced voluntary team.</p>\x0a<p>Other benefits include:</p>\x0a<p>acknowledgement in FAB printed material and the Fringe programme</p>\x0a<p>references</p>\x0a<p>meeting like-minded people</p>\x0a<p>committee members can become Directors of FAB</p>\x0a<p>Specific roles available:</p>\x0a<p>Press Officer</p>\x0a<p>Graphic designer – guide pages in the main Fringe Festival guide</p>\x0a<p>Web designer / web2 whizzkid!</p>\x0a<p>Fund-raiser</p>\x0a<p>Treasurer / accountant</p>\x0a<p>Writers interested in critical arts journalism for press and publications</p>\x0a<p>Coordinator / administrator to oversee and assist the artistic programme’s development</p>\x0a<p>FAB Curators / managers for specific projects</p>\x0a<p>Previous experience is not needed, though if you have some we will welcome you!
